May 16, 2015, Lucky Three spent the day at the new music festival, Lava Festival, in Suffolk, VA. L3 was down in Virginia supporting good friend and Creative Director of LAVA, Josh Coplon. We were thrilled to be able to attend this indie rock inspired festival full of eclectic music, food trucks, arcade games, and fun. Bands such as Kishi Bashi, Fitz and the Tantrums, Of Montreal, Cloud Nothings, Mute Math, and many more graced the stages for crowds of 2,500+.
The festival did a fantastic job of catering not only to the common music goer, but families interested in a day away from home. It was refreshing to be able to see something so new and different for the music festival world.
While down in Virginia, we were able to do some awesome sightseeing in the Virginia Beach area! Alyssa and Fidelia of L3 walked the Virginia Beach boardwalk/pier, hiked through First Landing State Park, and spent some quality time sunning on the beautiful beaches. We visited some very quaint eateries along our way – Taste, Chicks Oyster Bar, Bay Local Eatery, No Frill, Kohr Brothers Frozen Custard– all of which we would highly recommend! We had a blast exploring the area and can’t wait to return to next year’s Lava Festival festivities.
